Home Wedding
March 3
This love story encompasses both the sweetness and the bitterness of life. This isn’t just a love story. It is a journey through love, suffering, and grief. Meet Jen and Eddie. I was honored to be their florist for two important occasions - for their wedding in March 2022 and for Eddie's funeral 2 weeks later. Jen and Eddie met online in a Facebook group in early 2020 and became friends both online and in real life. But their friendship quickly blossomed into a romance less than two years later when Jen went to cheer up Eddie after he was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. Throughout radiation, doctor appointments, ER visits, and eventually entering into hospice care, Jen was by Eddie's side. They received special permission from their Church to quickly get married in her parents’ living room. Eddie passed away on St. Patrick’s Day, holding Jen’s hand. What makes this story even more unique is it is a Catholic love story. Many saints interceded for Jen and Eddie and were interwoven throughout their love story. One saint in particular, St. Therese of Lisieux, was especially important to both Jen and Eddie. Her symbol is the rose, hence all of the roses.
